Academic achievements
- Awarded top marks: In 1969, Professor Fomum graduated from Fourah Bay College, University of Sierra Leone, with a Bachelor of Science degree with honours and received the prestigious award for outstanding achievement.
- Doctorate in Organic Chemistry: In 1973, he earned a doctorate in organic chemistry from Makerere University in Kampala, Uganda.
Pioneering research
- In over 30 years as a postdoctoral researcher, he published more than 160 articles in renowned international chemistry journals and supervised over 100 master's and doctoral theses.
- D.Sc. Award: In 2005, the University of Durham, UK, awarded him a Doctor of Science (D.Sc.) degree in recognition of his research, the highest honour it bestows. He was the first Cameroonian to receive this honour.
- Tenured Professor: He was a professor of organic chemistry at the University of Yaoundé 1 in Cameroon.
Journey of Faith
- Professor Fomum was born on 20 June 1945 and experienced a transformative rebirth through the Holy Spirit on 13 June 1956.
- On 1 October 1966, he dedicated his life entirely to the service of Jesus Christ and was filled with the Holy Spirit on 24 October 1970.
- More than a hundred Christian books bearing his name are available in more than 15 languages, and the testimony of his journey with God continues to inspire millions of people on all six continents of the world.
